수비력으로 추정한 NPB의 역대 포지션별 수비 난이도

과거의 수비 난이도 추정 방법

현재 NPB의 가장 뛰어난 수비스탯은 UZR(Ultimate Zone Rating)이지만 집계되기 시작한지 오래되지 않았기 때문에 과거의 분석이 불가능합니다.  MLB도 UZR, DRS(Defensive Runs Saved)은 2000년대 이후 존재하며 그 이전에는 TZ(Total Zone)을 이용해 수비 난이도를 추정하고 있습니다. 베이스볼레퍼런스에서 제시한 과거의 수비 난이도를 보면 최근과 차이가 있습니다. 19세기까지 거슬러가면 중견수와 코너외야수의 차이가 거의 없었으며 1루수도 수비가 쉬운 포지션이 아니었습니다.  NPB 역시 과거의 수비 난이도가 현재와 비슷할지는 알 수 없습니다. 과거의 UZR은 없지만 대신 FS(Fielding Share)를 이용해 과거에도 수비 난이도 추정이 가능합니다.

단위를 점수에서 승수 기준으로 환산한 것입니다. 투고타저에 따라 조금씩 차이는 있지만 NPB는 9점이 1승 정도의 가치가 있습니다. 2020년대는 표본이 너무 작기 때문에 생략했지만 통산에는 반영되었습니다. 10년치씩 묶어도 변동이 큰 것은 표본이 충분하지 않기 때문입니다. 그렇다면 기간을 더 늘리는 방법도 있지만 그것보다는 통산 값과 평균하는 방법을 사용했습니다.

난이도는 어려운 순대로 유격수,중견수>2루수>3루수,우익수>좌익수>1루수 순입니다. 일반적인 인식과 비교하면 외야수가 고평가되고 있는데 손잡이 문제가 고려되지 않았기 때문입니다. 1루수를 제외한 내야수는 왼손잡이가 송구 동작을 할때 크게 불리하기 때문에 왼손잡이를 쓰지 않습니다. 그러므로 왼손잡이 외야수는 1루를 제외한 내야를 수비하는 것이 거의 불가능합니다. 그렇기 때문에 손잡이 문제를 고려하면 내야수의 평가는 높이고 외야수의 평가는 낮추게 됩니다.
